It is located within the Cotopaxi National Park in Ecuador. It is known for being a mirror of the Cotopaxi volcano when the sky is clear, offering spectacular views.Â
It has a trail that allows you to walk around, enjoy the natural environment and observe the flora and fauna of the moor, a species that is easily observed are the wild ducks that swim in its waters, you can also see coots and gulls and if you're lucky, you can see the great Andean condor flying over the skies of the national park.
History and Cultural Significance
Its origin is in the glaciers and the filtration of water from the Cotopaxi volcano. From its surroundings it offers impressive views of the Rumiñahui volcano and, when the weather permits, of the Cotopaxi volcano, reflected in its waters, an ideal moment to take a unique photo.Â
